MONIKA – Multicultural Women’s Association, Finland is a nationwide, multicultural organization functioning on social field. It promotes the equality and inclusion of immigrant women in Finland and prevents violence against women. The Association acts as an expert and does advocacy to improve the status of women, as well as supports immigrant women’s activities through its member organisations.

The main financers of MONIKA – Multicultural Women’s Association, Finland, are the City of Helsinki, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health with profits of Veikkaus Oy/Finnish Institute of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Education and Culture and the City of Vantaa.
Helping women who have experienced violence
One of the focuses of MONIKA is to help women with an immigrant background, who have experienced violence, or a threat of it. We do this work in Crisis Center Monika and Shelter Mona.
Support in the integration process
MONIKA also provides integrating activities. Their purpose is to support immigrant women’s skills of employment and to be a member of the society. We do this work in Integration Center Monika.
