About us
MONIKA – Multicultural Women’s Association, Finland is an umbrella organisation of multicultural women’s organisations that helps and supports women in different languages. It promotes the equality, non-discrimination and inclusion of women who have moved to Finland from other countries and prevents violence against women. The Central Office is located in Helsinki.
The main funders of MONIKA – Multicultural Women’s Association, Finland, are the City of Helsinki, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health with profits of Veikkaus Oy/Finnish Institute of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Education and Culture and the City of Vantaa.
Helping women who have experienced violence
MONIKA develops and provides specialized services for women with an immigrant background and their children who have been subjected to violence. This work is carried out at Crisis Center Monika and Shelter Mona.
